Since Thunderbird v. 140.1 installed, have been unable to send emails. Get pop-up instruction to check password. Using AOL, which requires OAuth2. But OAuth2 no longer appears in the Authentication Method drop-down menu.

I keep installing the Add-on to customize the message body toolbar. Unfortunately, the toolbar returns after a while. Now I can't seem to find the Add-on to customize it.

Any ideas? James

How do I export all my emails from Thunderbird to my local HDD?

I know there are a few different methods but which is the best option?

I have 22GB of Emails on my Yahoo Mail and I want to download the to my local HDD.

When I have a complete backup of the entire thing I plan to delete them from my Yahoo Mail to clean up some space.

Our business email is technically a Gmail account that shows as our business name. (info@businessname.com) In past Gmail allowed us to set up emails on Thunderbird or other system as a POP account. As such the email would be set up as this..... recent:info@businessname.com This allowed us to receive emails on multiple computers where each person could file or delete as needed.

Gmail has since required us to only use IMAP accounts for security. In Thunderbird when you set up an IMAP account it will not let you put the word "recent" in front of the email name AND if someone deletes the email on one computer or phone it is then deleted on the others.

The oddest thing about this whole mess is one of our computers still has the POP account for one email (we have 4 emails) and three had to be set up as an IMAP.

Any suggestions on how to get around this issue?

Recent problem, real nasty, may just have to give up on Thunderbird, at least on the Windows 10 computer.

Click on folder name in folder list, all messages previously downloaded and viewable, when the message list appears, it instantly disappears and the message list pane displays "no message found" and it proceeds to download the entire message list all over again. For some folders with over a hundred thousand messages, this is unacceptable, obviously.

I use the Search Messages tool daily, and I have always used the keyboard shortcut Cmd-Shft-F. That shortcut seems to have been eliminated. Could it be restored?

Att says that thunderbirds inability to receive and allow me to send thru thunderbird is not att.s problem. Thunderbird says that ATT times out or that there is no connection

There is ONE SPECIFIC email message in my inbox that I cannot move, copy or delete. Whether I drag-and-drop or use drop down menu - same result. This is the ONLY message in all my email accounts/inboxes which has this problem.

Continuing the attempt to move or copy causes the drop down menu to ask me if I want to move/copy the message AGAIN - but it still does not move or get copied. Hitting "Delete" on my keyboard or clicking the "garbage can" icon in the drop down menu has no effect - the email remains in my inbox.

I am using Tbird 140.1.0esr (64-bit)

I can no longer change the text font and color on my emails and save them as my defaults. Each email or reply changes to black text despite my setting a different color. I am using Thunderbird version 140.1.0esr (64-bit).

I have two issues that are related to a buggy interaction between Thunderbird and Microsoft's email server.

Issue (1) When I send an email with my Outlook email address (from the Android app or from outlook.live.com, but not Thunderbird), my email address shows up as a jumbled mess in the sent folder on Thunderbird.

It appears to the effect of

(I have masked some potentially sensitive information).

In the sent folder on my Outlook Android app, my email address looks normal. It also looks fine on a browser in outlook.live.com. However, it's in the sent folder on Thunderbird that my email address is a mess.

Issue (2) When my Outlook email address is involved, the sending and receiving email addresses in the "correspondent" field are swapped in Thunderbird.

There are a couple situations where this swap happens:

1. Sending an email with my Outlook email account (either through the Android app or outlook.live.com, but not Thunderbird). In my Outlook sent folder on Thunderbird, the "correspondent" field shows my jumbled email address and not the receiving address, such as bob@gmail.com. Likewise, In the inbox of the receiving email account (such as bob@gmail.com) on Thunderbird, the "correspondent" field shows bob@gmail.com and not my Outlook email address.
2. Sending an email with any other account in Thunderbird to my Outlook email address. In my Outlook inbox on Thunderbird, the "correspondent" field shows my Outlook email address (this time unjumbled) and not the sending email address. However, in the sent folder of the sending email account in Thunderbird, the "correspondent" field shows up correctly (i.e., my Outlook email address).

These two issues are perplexing and probably related. Thank you for any help!

As a long time (more than 15 years) user of Thunderbird application, I regularly update this app on my computers (5 of them) running on MacOS, some on MacOS 10.15.7 and other on 14.7.6. Before the last update to TB 140.0.1esr, I was using the version 128.11.1esr on my computers without any issue. But, following the installation of TB 140.0.1esr on one of my computers running MacOS 10.15.7, I notice a strange behavior of the application: (1) the application was running slower than the previous version, (2) when I try to close the application, I receive the system message that this "application quit unexpectedly", (3) the diagnostic test of my system shows that the CPU time is used at about 35% by the TB application. I had to completely remove the TB 140.0.1esr and painfully reinstall the previous version (128.11.1esr), due to the corrupted user profile! Now the TB 128.11.1esr runs normally and required about 0.3% of CPU time. So it will be imperative to look upon the compatibility of TB 140.0.1esr with MacOS 10.15.7. I did not try to install this update to my Mac M2 machines, following my issues with Mac intel machines. Thanks for any reply, G.Roy

When starting a New Message I start typing the recipients name, but Thunderbird stops at the first letter of the name and takes about 20 seconds to respond before bringing up a list of correspondents.

Ever since I updated Thunderbird on my Mac (OS 10.15) , it sends a message + low-down of event (to be sent to Apple apparently) AFTER I quit Thunderbird : "Thunderbird quit un expectedly"

After updating to Eclipse 140.1.0esr version now my Thunderbird has a bad look.. the fonts look like blurry, with low definition and are not as easy and comfortable to read like before..it's quite annoying to work like this

The only part that remains with a good definition like before is the box with the text to read the e-mails, the rest is blurry

I've tried many options like updating video driver, changing settings but the result is the same

I think there is something broken with this update, maybe because of the new dart theme, which I personally don't like and don't want to use

Has anyone else found this issue? Is there any solution?

Не работает отправка писем через SMTP Mozilla Thunderbird 141.0 (64-разрядный). Почтовый сервер gmail.com. Авторизация Outh2. В политике безопасности gmail создан пароль для приложения. Брандмауэр отключен. Авторизацию Google прошёл успешно. Но при попытке отправить письмо сообщает о недоступности smtp сервера. Письма принимаются. Проблема только с отправкой.
